Community Church's distribution of Toys for Tots toys involves partnering with the national Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, a program run by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve that provides gifts to underprivileged children for Christmas.
We DISTRIBUTE toys to families pre-qualified by Toys for Tots.
We DO NOT collect toys. We DO NOT register families.
For Families Needing Toys
- Find your local chapter: by using the interactive map on the official Toys for Tots website.
- Follow their specific instructions: for registering. This typically involves applying online between October and November.
- Submit all required documentation: for each child.
- Await confirmation: for your pickup date, which will be sent to your email.
- Be aware of the distribution dates, which are usually in mid-to-late December.
- Check your local chapter's website: for information on specific donation requirements and drop-off locations.
- Donate new, unwrapped toys: in designated collection boxes found at local businesses.
- Consider the greatest needs, which are often for toys for younger children (0-2 years) and older children (10-12 years).
- Note: that Toys for Tots does not distribute realistic-looking weapons or gifts containing food.
How Toy Distribution Works
- Collection: Community members donate new, unwrapped toys to collection boxes.
- Sorting: Marine Corps Reserve volunteers, Marine Corps League members, and local community organizations collect and store the toys in warehouses.
- Sorting: Toys are sorted by age and gender.
- Distribution: Local charities (like Community Church) and other organizations then distribute the toys to families in need
